Answer latency
Answer latency is the delay between a caller finishing speaking and an AI voice agent beginning its reply. It is the single biggest determinant of whether an AI voice agent feels like a conversation or an interrogation, because human turn-taking in natural speech happens at around 200 milliseconds — long gaps read as confusion or a bad line. Latency is the sum of every step in the loop: detecting the end of speech, transcribing it, generating a response, and synthesising the voice.
CallableAI quotes about 455ms for its AI Voice Agents, but we have not yet published a method for it, and our proof page labels it a product target rather than a measurement. That is the standard to hold every vendor to: a latency figure quoted without saying what was timed, over what sample and at what percentile is not comparable to anyone else's.
Deployed white glove. Backed by an SLA.
CallableAI works with organisations that need quality, volume and compliance to hold at once. Bring us your requirements — we'll scope the deployment, the rollout and the SLA with you.
