Pricing
How much does an AI voice agent cost in Australia?
Expect roughly $300 to $1,500 per month for a small-business AI voice agent in Australia, plus phone-system seats if your human team needs them. CallableAI itself does not publish a price list: it is priced as a flat monthly fee, scoped with sales to each deployment, in Australian dollars excluding GST. The number that actually decides value is cost per qualified conversation, not the subscription — a subscription that books four extra jobs a month is cheaper than a free one that books none.

How AI voice pricing is usually structured
Almost every vendor in this category bills on some combination of three things: a platform subscription, a usage component tied to talk time, and per-seat charges if human staff use the same phone system. Comparing headline subscriptions alone is how buyers get surprised — the usage component is usually where the money goes.
| Component | What it covers | What to watch |
|---|---|---|
| Platform subscription | Access, agent configuration, integrations, dashboards | Whether the base plan includes enough usage to be real, or is a shell you top up. |
| Usage / talk time | Minutes the agent actually spends on calls | How a minute is rounded, whether ring time and voicemail count, and what a top-up costs mid-month. |
| Phone system seats | Numbers, hunt groups and softphones for human staff | Only needed if your people move onto the same system. Priced per seat, per month. |
| Numbers and telco | Landline, mobile or 1300 numbers, and porting | Whether numbers are included or billed separately, and what porting costs. |
What Callable costs
CallableAI does not publish a price list. Every deployment is quoted as a flat monthly fee in Australian dollars, excluding GST, scoped with sales to the shape of the operation — expected call volume, the concurrency provisioned, the products in scope and the number of locations.
- Calling is unmetered — there is no per-minute line on the invoice and no talk-time allowance to run down.
- Throughput is provisioned as concurrency, supported up to 1,500 simultaneous calls.
- Deployment is white glove: CallableAI's team scopes, builds and rolls the deployment out with you.
- Enterprise deployments are contracted against a service-level agreement.
Because the fee is flat, a busy month never means a bigger bill or a dead line. How billing works, in full, is on the pricing page.
The number that actually matters
Subscription cost is the easiest thing to compare and the least useful. The figure that decides whether an AI voice agent pays for itself is cost per qualified conversation — total monthly spend divided by the conversations that met your qualification criteria.
Two inputs move it more than price does. The first is contact rate. Across three CallableAI tenants in one week, the share of dials that became a real conversation ranged from 14% to 59% — a four-fold spread on the same platform, driven entirely by list quality and offer. The second is conversion, and the two do not move together: the tenant with the best contact rate in that set had the worst cost per lead, because it converted the smallest share of the conversations it won.
We publish our own figure rather than a hypothetical: across three outbound tenants over the week of 11–17 August 2026, 881 qualified leads cost $16,638 in platform spend — $18.89 each, with individual tenants ranging from $17.11 to $44.43. Compare that to your current cost per qualified lead from paid advertising, which for most Australian small businesses is considerably higher.
What a lead actually costs on Callable
We publish this rather than model it. Across 11–17 August 2026, three anonymised outbound tenants produced 881 validated qualified leads against $16,638 of platform spend — a blended $18.89 per lead. A success counts only when the post-call extractor classifies it as the tenant's primary outcome and the record passes a required-field validation gate, which is the strictest definition available and therefore a conservative one.
| Tenant | Sector | Qualified leads | Platform spend | Cost per lead |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| A | Superannuation | 818 | $14,000 | $17.11 |
| B | Residential solar | 21 | $772 | $36.78 |
| C | Financial services | 42 | $1,866 | $44.43 |
| Combined | — | 881 | $16,638 | $18.89 |
The 2.6× spread is the finding, and it is the reason comparing subscription prices is close to useless. All three tenants ran the same platform in the same week. What separated them was contact rate and conversion — the largest contract in the set was the cheapest per lead, and the middle contract was not the middle cost.
Two honest limits. These are managed contracts between $3,310 and $60,000 a month, not entry-level subscriptions, so read the mechanism rather than the headline. And the denominator is platform spend only: it excludes list acquisition, human follow-up, CRM licences and commission, so a full cost per acquisition is higher for every tenant. Over the preceding 30 days the same three blended to $22.38, so the weekly figure is not an outlier — but individual tenants move.
Questions that reveal the real bill
- Is ring time, voicemail and hold time billed as talk time?
- What is the minimum billing increment — per second, or rounded up to the minute?
- What happens when the included usage runs out mid-month: does the line stop, or does it top up automatically?
- Are inbound and outbound minutes priced the same?
- Are numbers, porting and SMS included, or billed on top?
- Is there a minimum term, and what is the exit?
Common questions
- Is there a free AI voice agent option in Australia?
- CallableAI does not run a free plan; pricing is a flat monthly fee, quoted to your deployment by sales. Free tiers exist elsewhere in the category, but they generally cover setup and light testing rather than sustained call volume — the usage component is what you end up paying for either way. The more useful comparison is cost per qualified lead, which for CallableAI measured $18.89 blended across three outbound tenants in August 2026.
- Do AI voice agent prices include GST?
- CallableAI quotes in Australian dollars, excluding GST. Check this specifically when comparing vendors, particularly overseas ones quoting in USD, where both GST and the exchange rate change the real cost.
- Is an AI voice agent cheaper than hiring a receptionist?
- On direct cost, generally yes — a full-time receptionist in Australia costs many times a typical AI voice agent subscription. But they are not the same job. A receptionist handles physical presence, judgement calls and complex exceptions. The fairer comparison is against the cost of calls you currently miss, and against an outsourced answering service.
- Does Callable meter usage?
- Not on talk time. CallableAI bills one flat monthly fee scoped to the deployment; calling is unmetered, and throughput is governed by the concurrency provisioned — supported up to 1,500 simultaneous calls.
